The Advanced College of Healthcare Administration and Management (ACHAM) is a learner centered educational institution registered (RC 1726971) in line with the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, Law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The institution is owned by the Healthcare Administrators Association of Nigeria, (HAAN), a regulatory professional body. ACHAM prepares students for their professional career success and today’s competitive job market, upgrading their skills and knowledge in the field of Healthcare/ Hospital Administration and Management.

We encourage, support and promote career development of our students through high quality curriculum and teaching excellence.
ACHAM is a resource centre for distance learning in the Master of Business Administration in Hospital/ Healthcare Management and Master of Public Health Administration in consideration with our reputable affiliate universities. In addition ACHAM runs professional Diploma in the following courses:
i. Diploma in Primary Healthcare Management
ii. Diploma in Hospital and Healthcare Management
iii. Diploma in Public Health Administration
iv. Advanced Diploma in Primary Healthcare Management
From the academic year 2021/2022, the College is also coordinating and acting as a resource center for some Post-graduate programmes for our partner university.
All the ACHAM courses are well covered not only holistically in all sectors of healthcare administration but also bring a good balance between management science, social science, medical science and technology.
Many courses in the institution are designed in such a way that the learners will work with the industry and gain practical knowledge.
ACHAM Administrative office is located at easily and well-connected location at KM2, Off Naka Roard, Along BSIEC Road, Makurdi, Benue State – Nigeria.

Objectives of ACHAM
1. To make a higher education relevant to the learner and the community;
2. To integrate relevant skills into the higher education system;
3. To provide skill based education to students currently pursuing higher education but actually interested in entering the workforce at the earliest opportunity;
4. To provide opportunities for community-based life-long learning by offering courses of general interest to the community for personal development and interest;
5. To provide for vertical mobility to move to higher education in the future; and
6. To provide entrepreneurial orientation along with required skill training for self—employment and entrepreneurship development.

President Message

Pinot O. Ogbaji

Advanced College of Healthcare Administration and Management (ACHAM) as a Healthcare Management College is affiliated with reputable universities as students resource centre for some postgraduate programmes which has taken conscientious efforts to strengthen the curriculum by retaining all the fundamental stipulations of the universities for affiliation, to ensure a well-balanced curriculum. Within the constraints of a prescribed syllabus, we have resolved to take a collective effort to create an inspiring academic culture in the institution, essential for lecturers and students to access deeper knowledge and participate in its expansion and transmission. It is also to re-articulate the almost lost or forgotten fact that production and transmission of quality knowledge, essential for the development of students in particular and society in general are the primary functions of any Educational Institution.

The ACHAM syllabus aims to provide the students many opportunities to engage with authentic and real world learning. This has been evident through the significant number of programmes introduced in the institution with their integral placement opportunities. Increasingly, however, opportunities for engagement in work-based learning that can be provided through the curriculum across a range of courses are creating new and exciting ways to support student learning.

I acknowledge the efforts taken my colleagues in developing programme and course outcomes that focus on cognitive and intellectual skills of the learners confidence to carry out independent and scholarly research in area of professional interest to them and to position themselves nationally, effective cross-cultural educators. As the pioneer Provost, I am delighted to welcome our students and staff to our Institution, “Advance College of Healthcare Administration and Management,” a newly established healthcare management Institution in Nigeria.

Guided by our commitment to put students interests first and safety of our community, we have worked thoughtfully to tailor both the curricular as well as co-curricular programming for our students and the community of thinkers and doers who see the current healthcare environment not as a challenge to be managed but as an opportunity for exploration and transformation.

Complemented by our highly qualified and dedicated staff, our College will provide our students unparalleled opportunities to fully develop their knowledge acumen and succeed in an increasingly turbulent and competitive health environment.
